After nearly 30 years of presenting annual seminars recognizing the role of women in agriculture, the Women in Blue Jeans organization has established a new scholarship for female students attending Mitchell Technical College
The first scholarship recipient is Paige Endorf in the MTC Radiology program. She is from Canova and grew up on the family farm.
The scholarship is open to female students who have maintained at least a 2.5 GPA and are in their third semester of full time MTI course of study. “Talking with personnel at MTI, we found out that a lot of students have scholarships to help with early study, but that financial help is needed by many later on in studies,” commented Bobbi Schurz, Women in Blue Jeans co-chair. “While we will lean towards awarding a recipient in an ag program, we want applicants to explain how this $1000 scholarship will help their overall goals.”
Schurz said that as part of the MTI Foundation scholarship program, individuals and other organizations are able to donate to the WIBJ scholarship to keep it available for future years.
We will add more information soon, but if you are interested in applying for this year's scholarship, please email Brenda Bode for more information: lylebodefarm@santel.net
